There are no pre-requisite qualifications for the British Safety International Diploma in OHS course however; it is highly recommended to the aspirants of the NEBOSH International General Certificate course or is taken as an equivalent to Level 3, which is completed before undertaking the NEBOSH International Diploma. (Clarification: Core Engineering graduates, Science graduates & polytechnic diploma holders with NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent to Level 3.)

Good knowledge of English is required since the examinations of the British Safety Council International Diploma in OHS are held in English. Successful candidates of the British Safety Council International Diploma in OHS use the designatory letters “IDipOSH” after their name, which is a very prestigious title in this field. The Diploma holder may apply for Graduate member (Grad IOSH) of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), the major UK professional body in the field, through the Alagi Educational Academy, the course provider in Chennai, India. This is the first step to becoming a Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner as a Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH).

The British Safety Council International Diploma in OHS comprises of three units of study: Principles of health and safety Management, Safeguarding People’s Health in the Workplace and Promoting a Positive Health and Safety Culture in the Workplace.

British Safety International General Certificate

The British Safety International General Certificate is recognised worldwide as a stamp of professionalism and commitment to health and safety.

This qualification of British Safety International General Certificate is bestowed by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and meets the academic requirement for the technician membership of the institution (Tech IOSH).

Students who have been awarded by this British Safety International General Certificate may also apply for an associate membership of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM).

British Safety International General Certificate is designed for professionals with specific responsibility for health and safety in the workplace.

There are no formal pre requisites for the British Safety International General Certificate, but candidates should have a good knowledge of the English language as the training is in English and they should be capable to cope with the examination. – This course comprises of two mandatory units, each separately assessed.

Unit 1- Principles of Health and Safety Management and Unit 2- Controlling Hazards in the Workplace. – The course is assessed by two 90-minute written examinations comprising of a selection of short-answer questions.

Assessments must be booked separately for an additional fee. These examinations can be booked all year round at our centers all over the world.
