IOSH Managing Safety

Without any pre requisite to start this IOSH Managing Safety course, it is classroom based and highly interactive with role-plays and practical exercises to reinforce understanding and learning. When the candidate successfully completes the exam, they are awarded the IOSH Managing Safety Certificate.
The skills procured on completion of the IOSH Managing Safety course are detailed explanation of the term ‘Managing Safely’; Identification of the competent parts of a recognised safety management system such as BS 8800, HSG65 or OHSAS 18001 and gain an appreciation of risk assessment within a system; Identification of the data and techniques required to produce an adequate record of an incident; Description of statutory requirements for reporting and procedures for checking for non-reporting; Definition of hazards and risks and legal requirements for risk assessment; Demonstration of practical understanding of quantitative risk assessment techniques; Workplace precautions hierarchies ; Understanding of the purpose and techniques of an health and safety audit; Outlining the provisions of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005, relevant health and safety legislation, codes of practice, HSA guidance notes and other information sources; Distinguishing specific hazards both generally and from an organisational perspective and preparation and use of active monitoring checklists and effective recording keeping.
IOSH Working Safely
IOSH Working Safely course suits people at any level, in any sector, even those who need grounding in the essentials of health and safety. IOSH is the biggest health and safety membership organisation in the world and are the only chartered body for Health & Safety professionals.
On completion of the IOSH Working Safely course, an international safety certificate based on best practice is provided and gives an awareness of general workplace hazards and concentrates on why health and safety is important to the well-being of the individual worker and those around them.
The IOSH Working Safely is equivalent to the Health and Safety Executive’s ‘Passport’ syllabus. Individuals by taking up this professional course will benefit by gaining a nationally recognised certificate in health and safety training that meets government’s guidelines.

On completion of this course the candidate receives a confirmation email that he has successfully completed his training. The internationally recognised certificate from the Institution of Occupational and Health (IOSH) is posted by Royal Mail signed for 1st Class delivery and it reaches within 2-3 weeks of your completion date.
It is a 4-8 hour online course, assessment is a multiple choice test and on successful completion, you will have an internationally recognised IOSH certificate. It is generally recommended that learners retake the IOSH Working Safely course every three years.
The IOSH Working Safely course is considered as an equivalent to a Level 1 Award in H&S in a construction environment. Students who successfully complete the course can apply for a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Green Labourer Card on passing the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Operatives Test.
